Little League All-Star 10s advance, 12s go home

Claremont Little League All-Star teams battled in their respective Section 3 tournaments last weekend, with the 10-year-olds advancing to the 2025 Southern California State Little League tournament and 12s’ postseason coming to an end.
10-year-olds (7-1)
District 20 champs Claremont All-Star 10-year-olds added a Section 3 banner on Sunday with a 6-3 win over East Alhambra. The win sent the team on to the Southern California State Little League tournament. The 10s made quick work of their sectional opponents, beating District 23 champions Upland American 10-2 on July 10 and East Alhambra, 9-5, on July 11.
The 10s face Section 8 and District 71 champions Vineyard Little League at 9 a.m. Saturday at Homer Briggs Park, 2099 S. Oaks Ave., Ontario, in first round of state. The winner of that game will face the winner of Saturday’s contest between Section 5 champions Golden Hill and a TBD opponent at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 20.
12-year-olds (6-2)
Claremont’s District 20 title-winning 12-year-old All-Stars lost a close Section 3 championship game to Upland Foothill at College Park in Claremont on Sunday, 8-7, ending their postseason. Prior to that the 12s lost to District 23 champions Upland Foothill, 6-3, July 10, defeated both District 19 champs West Covina American, 9-2, July 11, and District 18 titleholders Northeast Los Angeles, 16-14, on July 12.
