Meet Claremont’s newest centenarian
Georgina “Nina” Garcia, a Claremont resident since 1965, will turn 100 on Wednesday, December 14.
Nina, her husband, Amalio, and their three children left Cuba in 1961 to escape communism, first landing in Northern California.
“Her friends will tell you that she has a positive, engaging, and charismatic personality, with a warm smile for everyone,” said her daughter, Ana Collisson. “She surrounds her family with her strength and unwavering love, she is selfless and generous, and is known for her willingness to assist anyone who needs her help.”
The Courier wishes Claremont’s newest centenarian continued health and happiness.
