New exhibits coming to the Benton

Pomona College’s Benton Museum of Art, at 120 W. Bonita Ave., Claremont, opens three new exhibits this month.
Opening Wednesday, February 18 is “Split-Second Misreads: Robert Cumming and the Fabrication of Illusion,” which includes Cumming’s 1971 photo collage “Hollywood Front and Back” and various photographic negatives, up through June 27, 2027.
On Saturday, February 21 the Benton opens “The Meditative Object,” artworks and traditional meditative objects, and “John Sparagana: Interference Patterns,” including more than 100 collages. Both are up through June 28, 2026.
Continuing through June 28 “Art Hall Projects 1: Manuel López.”
Admission is free 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The museum is closed Monday through Wednesday.
