OJP event serves up paella and flamenco
When Ophelia Jump Productions hosts a big event, they go really big. Such was the case at the Garner House on Saturday evening, October 5 as OJP hosted its annual celebration of Spanish food, music, and dance: Espiritu Flamenco.
And of course, Founding Artistic Director Beatrice Casagrán was chief chef, cooking up homemade paella with all the fixings right there in the courtyard. To feed the nearly 100 guests, it took two huge pans to slowly simmer the meat, fish and rice. The three-course feast began with pinchos & tapas, and ended with decadent homemade olive oil cake.
On stage was a crew of award-winning flamenco dancers and musicians who kept the audience tapping their toes and clapping along throughout the performance. Courier photos/Peter Weinberger
