OLA Fiesta was back in a big way for 2021

The yearly OLA Fiesta at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church has long been an event that brings friends and families together to enjoy a real fair and neighborhood carnival atmosphere. It’s been an event that people look forward to since 1947.

Then the pandemic hit and the festival closed for obvious reasons. Now after a two-year wait, the event was back on October 1 and 2 to the delight of the parish and Claremont community.

What makes the OLA Fiesta unique is the multi-cultural flavors from those in attendance including food and entertainment of all kinds. Entertainment included homegrown ensembles such as the Vietnamese Dragon Dancers, with music from the Suave Band and The ACE Band. Food was also prepared by parish volunteers right on the spot, along with carnival type rides for the kiddies.

It was easy to tell kids of all ages were happy the fiesta was back. So are we.
