Ontario International Airport was recently awarded a $10.81 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program for runway and taxiway upgrades.
The funds will go toward reconstruction of more than 5,400 feet of paved taxiway at the airport’s south end while adding 24 low-emission energy units to power aircraft, according to a news release.
“This federal funding will bring critical investments to Ontario International Airport, funding to improve the safety of the airport and to create more jobs,” US Senator Adam Schiff wrote in a statement. “I will keep working with Senator Alex Padilla and the entire California delegation to continue to strengthen our infrastructure and boost our local economies.”
