Pomona College’s Alumni Association Board will honor six alumni for their professional achievements and service to the college during alumni weekend, Thursday, May 1 through Sunday, May 4.

The recipients include: Charles E. Phelps, class of 1965; Susan Blaustein, 1975; John Rabold, 1975; Nancy Treser-Osgood, 1980; Douglas M. Haynes, 1985; and Priya Amritraj, 2015.

The Blaisdell distinguished alumni award, given “for high achievement in professional activities or community service,” according to a news release, will be awarded to Phelps, professor and Provost Emeritus at the University of Rochester; Blaustein, founder of WomenStrong International; and Haynes, interim vice provost for faculty affairs and programs at the University of California Office of the President.

The alumni distinguished service award, for those who demonstrate “selfless commitment and ongoing volunteer service to the College,” will go to Pomona College’s former director of alumni relations Treser-Osgood and longtime volunteer Rabold. Amritraj, head of film and television for the Hyde Park Entertainment Group, was named the inspirational young alumni award recipient, “which recognizes the dedication, perseverance and consistency of a recent graduate,” according to a news release.
