Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery, at 251 E. 11th St., Claremont, hosts the free and open to the public opening reception for “Means to an End,” the 81st Scripps College Ceramic Annual exhibition, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, February 7, with live music by Gold Minutes.
Guest curator and ceramic artist Reniel Del Rosario will speak about the exhibit at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 10 at Clark Humanities Museum, 1030 Columbia Ave., Claremont. After, a tour of the exhibition will take place at the Williamson Gallery.
“Means to an End considers contemporary artists’ enduring fascination with clay, a medium that demands precision, patience, and resilience,” according to a news release. “Del Rosario has selected artists who integrate ceramics into broader artistic approaches, combining clay with video, collage, painting, performance and more.”
“Means to an End” is up through Sunday, April 5 from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
