Storm brings moderate snow to Mt. Baldy, more on the way

Though the extreme weather predicted for Mt. Baldy this week did not materialize, elevations above 7,000 feet saw several feet of snow. The Baldy Village at 4,000 feet saw only a dusting, and lower elevations got rain, with the National Weather Service reporting 2.86 inches falling in Claremont over the past five days.

Crews work on the road near Mt. Baldy Ski Lifts parking lot Wednesday in anticipation of a Thursday opening. If you plan on hitting the slopes check weather conditions before leaving at mtbaldyresort.com.

Crews clear Mt. Baldy Road Wednesday as a light snow falls.
At 2 p.m. Wednesday a light snow was falling and crews were plowing roads to keep the road accessible to the Mt. Baldy Ski Lifts. Another storm was due to drop a foot of snow on Thursday, so drivers should be prepared for higher elevation mountain roads to be impacted, possibly through the weekend.
As always, conditions can change quickly. People should check mtbaldyresort.com for updates before heading up the mountain.
