Sustainable Claremont events this month

Sustainable Claremont will be putting on virtual gatherings during August to help promote greener ideas throughout the city, according to itsr monthly newsletter.

For those who missed out on the first Monday evening virtual green home tour, the recorded Zoom session can be found Sustainable Claremont’s website.

“Each week our Zoom meeting attendees enjoyed a different video tour of a local home and engaged in an audience-driven Q & A discussion with the home tour hosts and other panelists.” To access the links, visit their page at https://sustainableclaremont.org/events/annual-events/green-home-tour/

On August 23, Sustainable Claremont will host a Zoom meeting with a special focus on birds. The session is called Sustainability Dialog: Birds in our Midst: global impacts and local stewardship. Residents can join in with Pomona College zoology professor of biology, Nina Karnovsky, and Pomona Valley Audubon Society President, Tina Stoner, to “learn about what’s happening with birds” in Claremont and “what we can do to help.” The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. For more information, visit www.sustainableclaremont.org.

For those interested in the garden club, meetings are scheduled to start September 8.
