Drunk driving prevention exercise closes Indian Hill near Claremont High School
Indian Hill Boulevard is closed today, Wednesday, March 26, until 1 p.m. while school officials and police conduct the drunk driving program, Every 15 Minutes. Residents will see an increased police presence including fire and paramedic personnel, a coronor’s van and a simulated traffic accident. The exercise is held annually at the high school in an effort to dissuade students from drinking and driving.
Also, on Thursday, March 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a Regional SWAT team will conduct a training at the DoubleTree Hotel building adjacent to Buca di Beppo restaurant. The team will be using simulated ammunition and possibly small flash bang devices. Residents can expect police activity in the area between those hours.
UPDATE: The SWAT team training has been cancelled.
