The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm watch for Los Angeles County. In anticipation of the heavy rains associated with this winter storm, the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park will remain closed through Monday, January 11. 

Due to the continuing rain storms, the city of Claremont has been unable to drive vehicles in the CHWP and complete a safety inspection of the trails, culverts, trees, and streambeds.  Since this is the first multiple day storm since new culverts have been installed, the wilderness park will remain closed through the weekend until those inspections can take place.
