The public auction for the Claremont Unified School District’s former district office at 2080 N. Mountain Ave. will be held Tuesday, February 28, at the district office beginning at 1 p.m.

The event marks the next step the district is taking with the property since the board approved a resolution in July 2011 that ratified the Surplus Property Advisory (7-11).

Committee’s recommendation to declare the 4.35 acres of real property as surplus and authorize its sale. The board voted 5-0 at the February 2 meeting to move forward with the auction.

The minimum bid the district will accept for the property is $5.8 million. Whatever action is taken at the auction will be presented to the board as a resolution for approval at the March 1 meeting.
