Two suspects arrested for multiple burglaries
Claremont police arrested an Azusa man and a juvenile Monday afternoon on suspicion of committing a number of residential burglaries throughout the city.
A resident on the 3800 block of Shelter Grove Drive reported seeing two suspects, later identified as 18-year-old Kevin Trejo and a 17-year-old juvenile from Pomona, walking out of a back yard of a nearby home at approximately 12:13 p.m., Sgt. Robert Ewing of the Claremont Police Department said.
Police arrived and detained the teens. During the investigation it was revealed that they had just committed a burglary at the house. They were also reportedly in possession of stolen property taken from a home on the 800 block of Towne Avenue that was burglarized earlier that day, Sgt. Ewing said.
In addition, Mr. Trejo and the juvenile were allegedly caught on surveillance footage breaking into another home on the 200 block of Piedmont Avenue on August 15.
Mr. Trejo and the juvenile were arrested for multiple counts of burglary and possession of stolen property. Mr. Trejo was sent to CPD jail, and is due to appear in Pomona Superior Court on Wednesday, August 24. The juvenile is being held at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall, pending a court appearance.
