Police search for suspect in California Bank and Trust robbery
Police are looking for a suspect who robbed the California Bank and Trust Wednesday afternoon.
The robbery took place around 4:49 p.m. at the bank, located on the corner of First Street and Yale Avenue. The man reportedly entered the bank and presented a note to the teller demanding cash and stating that he had a gun, Lt. Karlan Bennett of the Claremont Police Department said.
The teller gave the man an undetermined amount of money, and the robber fled the scene. He was last seen running west on First Street toward Indian Hill Boulevard and remains at large.
No gun was seen on the suspect during the robbery, Lt. Bennett said.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, wearing a white striped polo shirt, a black jacket, a black hat that may spell out “SOX” on the front and blue or black Dickies pants. He may also have a mark on the right side of his neck, which police describe as a “hickey or other mark.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
