Claremont man arrested for robbing teen boys with fake gun
A Claremont man was arrested in connection with a robbery involving two teens at Vail Park last week.
Noah Maestas, 18, was arrested on a felony robbery charge just before 11:45 a.m. on March 30, five days after the March 25 crime, according to Lt. Mike Ciszek of the Claremont Police Department.
He has been charged with two counts of second-degree robbery and three counts of attempted second-degree robbery, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney spokesperson Sarah Ardalani.
Mr. Maestas is accused of robbing two 17-year-old boys of their wallets and cell phones after offering to sell them marijuana, police said. During a search warrant at his home, police recovered a replica handgun, Lt. Ciszek said.
Mr. Maestas is currently out on $100,000 bail, and is scheduled be arraigned at the Pomona Superior Court on April 7, according to Lt. Ciszek.
Police are looking for a second suspect but did not provide a description that individual. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
