IVHP hosts women’s changing aging roles event
Inter Valley Health Plan, a Pomona-based not-for-profit Medicare Advantage Health Plan, is hosting its 5th annual Women’s Changing, Aging Roles event titled “Time Flies, Catch It” on Saturday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at Hillcrest in La Verne.
Committed to enhancing the mind, body and spirit of older adults in southern California, nonprofit Inter Valley Health Plan will offer a free conference, which aims to inspire women aged 50 an dolder to let their passions soar and live in the moment.
“This event is very meaningful to us,” Marion Schmid of Inter Valley Health Plan said. “Our goal with this event is not just to inspire women but allow them to learn from one another and see this chapter in their lives as an opportunity to do what they’ve always wanted.”
The event will be held at the Meeting House at Hillcrest, 2705 Mountain View Dr,. La Verne and attendees can enjoy refreshments, discussions by notable speakers, participate in interactive activities and receive prizes. Women are encouraged to bring their daughters, sisters and friends to enjoy activities such as the selfie booth and creation of a vision bucket.
Speakers and topics include Regina Lark, PhD, author of The Relationship between the Stuff in Your Head & What’s Under Your Bed; Kelly Niles-Yokum, MPA, PhD, “Experiences Are the New Things;” and Kathy Duncan, RN EdD, “Time Is Precious, Waste it Wisely.”
