Claremont residents may have noticed an “earthy” taste and odor in the tap water. According to Golden State Water Company, the water is safe to drink and  continues to meet all state and federal drinking water quality standards.

The “earthy” condition is commonly associated with a seasonal algae bloom at Silverwood Lake. The California Department of Water Resources is monitoring conditions at the lake and coordinating a treatment solution.
