Towne Avenue off-ramp improvements aim to increase safety

The pedestrian and bicycle improvements constructed along Towne Avenue from the 210 freeway to Base Line Road, have been completed with the installation of “No Right Turn” LED signs (blank-out signs).

These signs, as well as bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, were funded with a Safe Routes to School Grant.

As part of the project, three blank-out signals were installed at the eastbound off ramp. These signals flash a “No Right Turn” message upon activation of the pedestrian push button, which allows for right turns to be made on a red light when pedestrians are not using the intersection.

These new blank-out signals replace the permanent “No Right Turn On Red” signs that were previously posted at this location. For information, contact the city’s engineering division at (909) 399-5465.
