Thieves work overtime in three early-morning burglaries
Three Claremont businesses were burglarized early Thursday morning.
Around 1:10 a.m., Claremont officers responded to a burglary alarm at Sweet Swirl Frozen Yogurt on Auto Center Drive and discovered an unknown burglar had smashed the glass door, Claremont police said in a release.
Because the owner removed cash from the till before closing, nothing was taken from the business. The burglars fled the business undetected.
Around 4:45 a.m., police responded to another burglary at Sushi Maru on the 900 block of West Foothill Boulevard. According to police, an unknown suspect smashed the front window using a “soccer ball-sized rock,” police said.
The suspect rummaged through the business, but nothing was taken.
While checking businesses in the area, officers found that Marie Callender’s was also broken into. Police said the burglar used a baseball-sized rock to smash the front door.
Once inside, the burglar ransacked the office and the locker room, but nothing was taken. According to police, Marie Callender’s does not have an alarm or surveillance cameras.
Anyone with information should call the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
