Longtime Claremonters celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Longtime Claremont residents Jerry and Maury Feingold are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today, Saturday, July 7. In honor of this special event, the couple will be hosting a private family dinner party at the White House restaurant in Anaheim.

Mr. Feingold met his bride-to-be in 1960 after she moved to Pomona to pursue a teaching career. The Feingolds wed on July 7, 1962 in the bride’s hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota, planting roots in Pomona, Mr. Feingold’s hometown. Mr. and Mrs. Feingold moved to Claremont in 1975, where they raised their 3 children.

The Feingolds are actively involved in the community. Mrs. Feingold is a community and human services commissioner for the city of Claremont and Mr. Feingold is an active member of Kiwanis. They both serve on the Fourth of July committee each year and volunteer weekly at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. Mrs. Feingold is a retired teacher with Pomona Unified School District yet continues to teach on a regular basis, and Mr. Feingold is the owner of Such a Deal Sports, a small sporting goods company.

With a romantic trip to the Bahamas planned in July, the Feingolds will continue the anniversary celebration throughout the summer with several intimate parties and dinners hosted by their special friends and loved ones.

Mr. and Mrs. Feingold’s 3 children all graduated from Claremont High School. They are Lisa Feingold and partner Doug Sturgis of Claremont; David Feingold and wife Meg of Newport Beach; and Dan Feingold and wife Cheri of Palos Verdes. In addition, they have 5 grandchildren: Hailey Schmidt, JT Glenn, Julie Feingold, and Lauren and Matthew Feingold.
