Members hold rally to save the Club

About 200 people gathered in the parking lot of The Claremont Club on Sunday to protest the closure and planned sale of the 47-year-old fitness center. A group calling itself Save the Claremont Club organized the rally and is gathering a list of people, including current members and employees, who might be interested in donating money toward a campaign to buy the property. People at the rally described the Club as a special institution and feared it would be leveled to make way for more housing. COURIER photo/Steven Felschundneff
