Despite the arrest of a trio of Bonnie Brae Avenue burglars early last week, the residential and auto capers continue throughout Claremont.

The owners of a home in the 3400 block of Yankton Drive continue to work on compiling a list of stolen property in a residential burglary reported Thursday evening, January 10. The Claremont police were dispatched to the residence around 6:40 to investigate an activated alarm. Officers arrived to find the rear door kicked in and several rooms ransacked, according to the police report. Property loss was unknown as of press time.  

Another residential burglary took place a few hours later on an adjacent street. Police were dispatched once again, this time to investigate the activation of a fire alarm at a residence in the 300 block of Miramar Avenue. It appeared that the burglars had gained entry to the home by prying open a rear door, similar to the previous incident, according to police. Several rooms were ransacked and miscellaneous jewelry was stolen.

A rear window was the point-of-entry for a residential burglary in the 1800 block of Wheaton Avenue the following day. Burglars made off with the residents’ gaming consoles and jewelry between 8 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.

Residents along Miramar Avenue were targeted in a series of auto crimes Sunday morning.  The first incident occurred shortly before 6 a.m. in the 900 block of Miramar when a 2008 white Toyota Camry reportedly went missing. There are no suspects at this time. Shortly after that report was taken, police were informed of 2 nearby vehicle thefts, located in both the 700 and 800 block of Miramar.

There were no witnesses in any of these crimes. Claremont Police urge residents to report any suspicious activity in local neighborhoods to the Claremont Police Department immediately at 626-1296.
