Claremont City Council welcomed back Mayor Sam Pedroza Tuesday Night after more than a month on hiatus. Mr. Pedroza has been on medical leave after a serious bicycle accident on Tuesday, August 30. Mr. Pedroza thanked the Claremont community for their support after his “attempt to stop myself with my nose.”

“The outpouring of support and love and prayers…all that stuff really does make a difference,” Mr. Pedroza said. “This community is overfilling with that support and love.” Mr. Pedroza said he was feeling much better, adding that his neck brace will come off Oct. 31. “Then I’ll get my nose fixed up so I’ll look even prettier than before,” Mr. Pedroza joked.  COURIER photo/Jonathan Gibby
