Retired attorney and engineer David Sonner was recently installed as the new president of the University Club of Claremont, a 99-year-old Claremont institution that provides intellectual and informative programs to the community. John Townswick was also announced as the club’s new vice president, and Jung Cho, Pat Hoppe, and Lucy Lynch were elected to its board of directors.

The club holds public meetings on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the DoubleTree by Hilton’s Sycamore Room, 555 W. Foothill Blvd., Claremont, usually beginning with social time about 11:30 a.m. There is a $15 meeting fee.
