Claremont Hills Wilderness Park will be closed beginning Wednesday, August 20, “until further notice due to a Red Flag Warning,” the city announced Tuesday evening.

“The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for the Eastern San Gabriel Mountains, including the CHWP, due to extreme fire conditions. City staff will continue to actively monitor conditions and send a notification when the park reopens. In the event of changes to weather conditions or nearby wildfire activity, the CHWP may be subject to additional closures.”
