Applicants sought for Independence Day and human relations committees

Applications are currently being accepted for the city’s Independence Day committee and committee on human relations.

The IDC advises the Claremont Community and Human Services Commission on items related to the Fourth of July celebration, helping develop goals and outcomes for the celebration while also reviewing and evaluating programs. Efforts by the committee on human relations focus on improving human relations, civic peace, and inter-group understanding around the City of Trees.

Applicants must show proof of Claremont residency (with certain exceptions); a strong interest in the community and work of the commission; and the ability to give time when serving. Interested persons are encouraged to file an application with the human services department at the Alexander Hughes Center, 1700 Danbury Rd., Claremont.
