Former Claremont resident and Claremont McKenna College alumnus Orlando Davidson, author of “Baseline Road,” will speak about and sign copies of his new book at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 14 at the Claremont Helen Renwick Library meeting room, 208 N. Harvard Ave.,

Davidson’s book, which is set in Claremont in 1972, follows a police detective who has been tipped off that a murder from two years earlier has gone unsolved. He then sets off with his fellow cop, Carol, to get to the bottom of it. Books will be available for purchase for $15 at the Friends of the Claremont Library sponsored event.
