CERT training begins September 2
Adults are invited to register for Claremont Community Emergency Response Team’s upcoming trainings.
The trainings, at Alexander Hughes Community Center, 1700 Danbury Rd., Claremont, are led by Claremont CERT volunteers with help from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Claremont Police Department. They begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 2 with disaster preparedness and community emergency response team organization, followed by a fire safety and utility controls class at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 4; a two-part disaster medical training, 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 11; a disaster psychology and terrorism workshop, 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 16; a light search and rescue course, 6 p.m. Thursday, September 18; and a final review and certification ceremony, 9 a.m. Saturday, September 20.

Attendees must submit a Claremont community emergency response team community class application to CPD, 570 W. Bonita Ave., Claremont, before courses begin. Search “CERT” at claremontca.gov for the application.
