Claremont Graduate University opens its latest art exhibit, “The Delicate Ties that Bind,” with a free and open to the public 6 to 9 p.m. reception at the Peggy Phelps and East galleries, 251 E. 10th St. on Saturday, October 19. Remarks by curator Megan Knobloch Geilman, featured artists, and Lori Anne Ferrell, dean of CGU School of Arts and Humanities, will be delivered at 6:30.

The exhibit, developed through Claremont Mormon Studies in collaboration with the Center for Latter-day Saint Arts, is viewable through Friday, November 1. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with free admission.

“’The Delicate Ties That Bind’ explores the precariousness of post-pandemic existence, focusing on the complex and often fragile relationships that shape our lives,” its description at cgu.edu read. “The exhibition delves into the intersections of social and geographic communities, religious institutions, political systems, the land, and personal connections. Through this lens, the featured artists examine the delicate threads that weave together our shared experiences in a world forever changed by recent global events.”

Featured artists include Andrew Ballsteaedt, Richard Gate, Megan Knobloch Geilman, Kyla Hansen, Cole James, Jackie Leishman, Alice Marie Perrault, and Samantha Zauscher.
