Claremont library’s teen poetry contest is open now
Students in grades seven through 12 are invited to submit an original poem to the Claremont Helen Renwick Library, 208 N. Harvard Ave., for its third annual teen poetry contest. Entry forms are at the library.
Poems will be grouped into categories: seventh and eighth, ninth and 10th, and 11th and 12th grades. Winners will receive a $50 gift card. Winners and top 15 finalists will have their poem published in an anthology booklet that will be displayed at the library.
Poets can submit one typed or printed one page entry which can’t exceed 25 lines. Entry forms and poems can be delivered or mailed to the Claremont Helen Renwick Library or emailed to pespinosa@library.lacounty.gov. The entry deadline is April 30.
Contestants will be notified of their entry’s status by May 17. Winners must claim their prize by June 7.
