Contreras is new Citrus College board president
Anthony Contreras, principal of the Azusa Adult Education Center, was installed as the new president of the Citrus Community College District Board of Trustees in December 2023.
Contreras represents Trustee Area 1, which includes Azusa and portions of Duarte. He was appointed to the board in 2020 and elected in 2022. Contreras has spent 34 years with the Azusa Unified School District.
“As a graduate of Citrus College and an engaged member of this community, I am honored that my colleagues have selected me to serve as president of the board for this upcoming year,” Contreras wrote in a statement. “It is inspiring and invigorating to help students fulfill their dreams, and I am eager to continue this great work alongside my fellow trustees. Together, we will do all we can to assist Citrus College students in reaching their academic and professional goals.”
Other board members installed in December include Vice President Cheryl Alexander, and Mary Ann Lutz as clerk/secretary. Patricia A. Rasmussen and Laura J. Bollinger will continue to serve as board members, while Sabrina Soriano will remain in her position as student trustee.
