Deadline nears for submissions to photo contest
Five p.m. Sunday, June 22 is the deadline for submissions for Chaffey Community Museum of Art’s upcoming exhibit, “Steve Thomas Photography Open,” to be held July 26-28 at 217 S. Lemon St., Ontario. It is curated by Timothy LeBlanc.
The entry fee is $25. Applications are at chaffeymuseum.org/steve-thomas-open. They must include a biography, statement, and digital images of up to three original works, including title, year, medium(s), and dimensions.
“Images created entirely by [artificial intelligence] will not be accepted but photographic images that engage with AI in nuanced ways may be submitted for consideration,” according to a press release. “Please include AI in the medium details of the work submitted.”
The show is open to photographers 18 and older who live in the Inland Empire or eastern portion of Los Angeles County. The three highest-ranked photographers will receive a cash prize and an invitation to exhibit their work.
