Mother’s Day
Mom is free on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12 at California Botanic Garden, 1500 N. College Ave., Claremont. The garden is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Free tickets for mom are available at calbg.org/event/mothers-day-free-admission. Follow the links at the reservation page to accommodate other family members, $10 for adults, $6 for seniors and students, and $4 for children ages 3 to 12. Kids under 3 are free.

Waterwise Community Festival
California Botanic Garden and Sustainable Claremont team up to teach the public about California native plants, waterwise landscaping, and watershed health at the free and open to the public 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Waterwise Community Festival on Saturday, May 18, at CalBG, 1500 N. College Ave., Claremont.
The event features informational booths, educational and family-friendly activities, water expert talks, consultations with local designers and landscape companies, curated musical performances, workshops, water art by Lachlan Turczan, and tours. Booth exhibitors include Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Chino Basin Water Conservation District, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, California Native Plant Society, Workman and Temple Family Homestead Museum, TreePeople, City of Claremont, Inland Empire Waterkeeper, and Council for Watershed Health.
Admission is free from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Advance ticket reservations are recommended at calbg.org. Walk-in tickets will be limited to availability. Parking is free.
