Claremont High School seniors Caleb Fong, Arnav Merla, Gabrielle Mussey, Aabhisaar Shrivastav, and Luke Vinall have been named semifinalists in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program.

They were chosen among 16,000 semifinalists, representing less than 1% of high school seniors nationwide, after recording high marks on the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The CHS students will next submit finalist applications outlining their academic achievements and community involvement. Next spring, some 7,000 National Merit Scholarships will be distributed.
