Poet Karen Greenbaum-Maya, a former Claremont Courier restaurant reporter, will read from and sign copies of her new Bamboo Dart Press collection, “The Beautiful Leaves,” from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, September 9 at the Claremont Forum, 586 W. First St.

The collection reflects on the illness and death of her husband, Walter Maya, who died from lung cancer in 2018 at age 89. The event is free and open to the public.
