Ophelia’s Jump Productions’ 2023 Midsummer Shakespeare Festival lineup includes “Measure for Measure” and “The Pirates of Penzance” and runs Thursday, July 13 to Sunday, July 23 at Pomona College’s Sontag Greek Theater, near 300 E. Bonita Ave., Claremont.

“Measure for Measure,” the story of a duke who hands over power to a strict and unforgiving deputy who then decides to enforce long-neglected laws to rid the city of vice, will be performed July 13, 15, 21, and 23. “The Pirates of Penzance,” a light-hearted operetta that follows the adventures of a young man who was mistakenly apprenticed to a band of pirates, is scheduled for July 14, 16, 20, and 22.

Each evening’s performance opens with local musicians and performers at 7 p.m., with showtimes at 8. Show admission varies but festival passes for all performances are $75. Tickets and information are at opheliasjump.org.
