NASA grants Cal Poly Pomona $1.2 million

Cal Poly Pomona was recently awarded about $1.2 million in combined grants from NASA programs to support three space related research projects that will provide CPP students with firsthand experience developing technology to further space exploration research and goals.

The projects include developments for CubeSat Technology Exploration Program worth $898,872 from Minority University Research and Education Space Technology Artemis Research Implementation Grant program; $265,000 from NASA’s Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences to study bacteria behavior in spacecraft facilities; and a $50,000 MUREP grant to use extended reality technology to design “training environments” for astronauts.
