As part of the city’s 2025 reforestation program, tree plantings will begin in November and run through April 2025.

Growth space, utility line interference, traffic clearance, and maintenance resources such as an adequate and consistent water source are considered at proposed planting sites and evaluated and approved by an arborist. Residents interested in a new city tree can call (909) 399-5431.

Newly planted trees are watered by the city for 90 days, then a water bag is installed and property owners are responsible for watering. New trees will receive a checkup approximately one year after planting, which includes “light structural pruning, re-staking and tying, if necessary, and an overall health check,” according to the city’s website, ci.claremont.ca.us.
