Nonprofits need back-to-school supplies

Newcomers Access Center
Local nonprofit Newcomers Access Center is requesting new school supplies, backpacks, books in good condition, and cell phones to benefit families.

Donations can be dropped off daily between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the NAC office, 233 Harrison Ave., Suite B5, Claremont, in the Claremont United Church of Christ building. Financial contributions are also welcome.

Bithiah’s Family Services
Bithiah’s Family Services, a Pomona-based nonprofit providing crisis housing and resources for those working with vulnerable children, is hosting a back-to-school supply drive for local families through Saturday, July 21.

The nonprofit is requesting backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, number two pencils, pens, pencil cases, art supplies, erasers, markers, glue sticks, highlighters, binders, folders, notebooks, and headphones, which can be dropped off at Ikea Covina, 848 S. Barranca Ave., between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily through July 21.
