Palestinian pastor speaks at Good Shepherd Church
Palestinian pastor and theologian the Rev. Munther Isaac spoke at Claremont’s Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Thursday about “the impacts of the silence of U.S. churches in the face of the ongoing genocide and destruction of the Palestine homeland and Christian Zionism’s support of apartheid in the West Bank and Gaza,” according to a Good Shepherd news release.
The event was part of the “Silence is Complicity” speaking tour sponsored by the Friends of Sabeel North America, a Christian voice for Palestine.
Isaac is a pastor at the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beit Sahour, both based in Israel. He is academic dean of Bethlehem Bible College, co-founder of the annual Christ at the Checkpoint seminars, and an author.
