Pitzer to open ‘Julia Haft-Candell: The Yet To Be’

Pitzer College Art Galleries hosts a free and open to the public opening for its upcoming installation, “Julia Haft-Candell: The Yet To Be,” from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 23 at 1050 N. Mills Ave., Claremont.

The exhibit, curated by Ciara Ennis, runs from through December 8 and is broken into two parts, “Part 1: Hands/Feelers” and “Part 2: The Infinite Library,” which will be displayed across the Nichols Gallery and Lenzer Family Art Gallery.

The ceramic works of part 1 “articulate her evolving Glossary and are explored in image and text-based drawings and a stop-motion animation,” according to a news release. Part 2 features “texts inspirational to Haft-Candell’s thinking.”
