Pomona Valley Hospital offers $50 mammograms in October
Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is offering $50 mammograms at its Pomona (1798 N. Garey Ave., Pomona), Claremont (1601 Monte Vista Ave., Suite 100, Claremont), La Verne (2333 Foothill Blvd., La Verne), and Chino Hills (2140 Grand Ave., Chino Hills) locations throughout October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Mammograms can be performed without a physician’s order or proof of insurance to women over the age of 40 without breast implants who have not had a mammogram in the past year, who have not had breast cancer in the past five years, and/or who are not currently experiencing breast problems.
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women and, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, causes more than 40,000 annual deaths in women in the United States. Annual mammograms are critical for early detection and diagnosis.
