Pop art masters featured at Citrus College Art Gallery
Paintings and sculptures by acclaimed artists Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring and more are featured in “POP Art: Selections from the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation,” currently on display at the Citrus College Art Gallery, 1000 W. Foothill Blvd., Glendora, through Tuesday, April 30.
The exhibit is free and open to the public, but reservations are required at citrusarts.org/exhibitions. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“Pop art was an important and culturally significant movement in art history, and this exhibition illustrates how it has influenced artistic production in our present cultural moment,” Mike Hillman, Citrus College visual arts instructor, said in a news release. “By visiting the college’s Art Gallery, guests will have the opportunity to view portions of one of the premier collections of contemporary, modern and pop art in existence.
“Our hope is that their visits inspire them to create, dream and educate others,” Hillman added. “Art is a universal language. By displaying this important collection, Citrus College is certain to encourage thought, contemplation and questioning.”
