Renowned organist to perform Feb. 25 at CUCC
Internationally renowned organist Olivier Latry will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 25 on Claremont United Church of Christ’s Glatter-Götz/Rosales organ.
The performance, at 233 W. Harrison Ave., Claremont, will feature works by J.S. Bach, F. Couperin, Saint-Saëns, Guilmant, Vierne, Dupré, and an original work by Latry.
Latry, one of four “titulaires des grandes orgue” (holders of the great organs) at the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, is one of the world’s most distinguished organists, according to a news release.
The Glatter Götz/Rosales organ, with its 4,041 pipes, is the result of a partnership between builders Caspar Glatter-Götz of Owingen, Germany, Manuel Rosales of Los Angeles, and Carey Robertson, CUCC’s principal organist. The same team went on to design and build the Walt Disney Concert Hall organ.
Admission is $35, $25 for seniors, and $15 for high school and college students. Children are free. Tickets and info are available at claremontucc.org/concerts or at the door.
