The Rotary Club of Claremont will unveil its “peace pole” at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 at Shelton Park, 320 Harvard Ave., Claremont.

Mayor Corey Calaycay, Sylvia Whitlock — the first woman to serve as president of a Rotary Club — the Claremont High School Choir, and others will be on hand.

“May peace prevail on Earth!” read a Rotary Club news release. The event will culminate “in a dove and butterfly release as we spread the message of our community and Rotary’s commitment to peace.”
