Upland Citizens Police Academy taking applications
The Upland Police Department is taking applications for its Citizens Police Academy at uplandca.gov. Applicants must be 21 or older with no outstanding warrants, pending criminal cases, prior felony convictions, or misdemeanor arrests within the last three years. Each will undergo a background investigation.
Selected applicants will be invited to a 10-week training course beginning Tuesday, February 13 to learn about the department and its officers. Classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at UPD, 1499 W. 13th St.
Course instructors include police department personnel who specialize in narcotics, investigations, patrol and traffic operations, criminal law, crime scene investigation, and other fields. Students will also meet command staff, detectives, patrol and K-9 officers, dispatchers, and support staff.
