Ussachevsky festival coming next month
Pomona College’s annual Ussachevsky Memorial Festival of Electroacoustic Music kicks off with a free and open to the public 2:30 p.m. Thursday, February 5 lecture and musical presentation from its 2026 composer-in-residence James Diaz at Thatcher Music Building, 340 N. College Ave., Claremont.
Free and public concerts will follow at 8 p.m. February 6 and 7 at Thatcher Music Building’s Lyman Hall, 340 N. College Ave., with music by Diaz, Cerulean S. Payne-Passmore, Bobby Ge, Tonia Ko, Kyong Mee Choi, and Tom Flaherty on February 6, and Ania Vu, Leah Reid, Peter Shin, Kaija Saariaho, and Diaz February 7. More info is at pomona.edu/events.
