Friend, mentor, father, brother, grandfather

Harold (Hal) Wolverton, aged 73, died peacefully on April 11.

He was a Hawthorne native, who spent many years living in both Pacific Palisades and Claremont.

Those who knew him know he was always excited to share stories about his time on the football field during his high school and college years. He spent several years working as a teacher, leaving a lasting impact on many over the years.

He is survived by his children, Benton Wolverton and Katie Bartosh; older brother Rich Wolverton; and grandchildren, Melia and Robbie Bartosh.

A casual celebration of life will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 11 at Last Name Brewing 2120 Porterfield Way, Upland, CA 91786.
