Monday, March 31
Claremont Police Department officers responded to a 1 p.m. call about a physical altercation at a residence in the 1400 block of Morton Circle. Police spoke with two people involved and determined a 47-year-old Claremont woman was the main aggressor in the incident, leading to her arrest for assault with a deadly weapon or instrument other than a firearm, a felony. She was transported to the Claremont jail and booked before she was released to a nearby hospital for a medical issue. CPD rearrested the woman on April 11, and rebooked and held her for court. She was released after an April 15 Pomona Superior Court appearance and is due back in court May 21.
Tuesday, April 8
Montclair police called CPD to the 4900 block of San Bernardino Street in Montclair at 9:38 a.m. because a records check for Vincent Morales, a 30-year-old Walnut man they had in custody, showed he had a felony no-bail warrant from CPD. Arriving officers transported Morales to CPD where he was booked and held for court. He was transported to the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic on April 9 and is due at Hollywood Superior Court on April 22.
Wednesday, April 9
Claremont police conducting a 10:12 p.m. welfare check in the parking lot of Motel 6, 840 S. Indian Hill Blvd., came across an unconscious 23-year-old homeless man. Police said drug paraphernalia was found nearby. They questioned the man, determined was under the influence of a narcotic, and allegedly found narcotics during a search. Police arrested the man for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors, and transported him to CPD where he was booked, held to detoxify, and was later released with a citation.
Thursday, April 10
Police on patrol at 10:19 a.m. saw two men, Cameron Clark, 23, of Claremont, and Bradley Morris, 35, of Fontana, trespassing at the former Greyhound bus depot, 888 S. Indian Hill Blvd. Officers questioned the two men and allegedly found both to be in possession of methamphetamine pipes, leading to their arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Clark and Morris were transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and released with citations to appear in court.
Friday, April 11
Officers pulled over Rancho Cucamonga resident David Freeman, 53, at 1:49 a.m. near Briarcroft Road and Towne Avenue due to a vehicle code violation. Officers said he showed signs of impairment. After field sobriety tests, Freeman was arrested for misdemeanor DUI, transported to the Claremont jail, booked, held for detox, and later released with a citation.
At 2:08 p.m., police attempted to question 37-year-old Michael Turner of Pomona in the 200 block of W. First Street, but said he ran from them. Police eventually caught Turner, whom police recognized from previous encounters, and a records check showed he had a felony parole violation warrant out of Los Angeles County. He was arrested for the warrant, and for misdemeanor resisting, delaying, or obstructing a peace officer. He was transported to Claremont jail, booked, and later taken to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles. On April 13, he was transported to Men’s Central Jail and is due at Central Arraignment Court in Los Angeles April 30.
Sunday, April 13
At 3:55 p.m., CPD officers recognized Casey Ross, 32, of Pomona, at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Towne Avenue from previous encounters, and a records check revealed Ross had a felony CPD warrant, leading to his arrest. He was booked at the Claremont jail and held for court.
Police performed a 6:04 p.m. welfare check at Chevron/McDonald’s, 860 S. Indian Hill Blvd., following reports of a 29-year-old homeless woman loitering. A records check of the woman showed she had a misdemeanor warrant from L.A. County and a misdemeanor warrant from San Bernardino County. She was arrested, transported to CPD, booked and later released with a citation to appear in court.
